Built for Molecular Workflows

PCR setup areas, RNA prep benches, sequencing prep stations, sample handling rooms. The places where a single contaminating nucleic acid molecule ruins the run — and where generic disinfectants leave residue that interferes with downstream chemistry.

1-Minute Contact Time

Apply, wait 1 minute (5 minutes for heavily contaminated surfaces), rinse with water, dry. Fast enough for between-sample workflow; thorough enough for end-of-day deep decontamination.

QC-Released Per Lot

Every Pro-Wipe Molecular Solution lot is tested for active ingredient identity, pH specification, functional performance, appearance, and packaging integrity. Retain samples support stability monitoring through the product shelf life.

What Pro-Wipe Molecular Solution Does

From the IFU: a surface decontamination reagent that rapidly inactivates DNase and RNase contamination on non-porous surfaces. Intended for molecular biology and genomics workflows where preventing nucleic acid contamination is critical.

Inactivates DNase

Removes DNase contamination that would otherwise degrade your DNA template during PCR setup, library prep, or downstream sequencing workflows.

Inactivates RNase

Eliminates the ubiquitous RNase contamination on benches, pipettors, and equipment that destroys RNA samples before you can run them — critical for qPCR, transcriptomics, and RNA-seq.

Removes Nucleic-Acid Carryover

Decontaminates surfaces of residual DNA and RNA from previous runs — eliminates false positives from amplicon carryover in PCR and qPCR workflows.

Where to Use It

Apply to non-porous lab surfaces before and between sample-handling sessions. Always rinse with water after the required contact time.

PCR / qPCR setup benches

Decontaminate before each batch — eliminate amplicon carryover

RNA prep benches

Eliminate RNase before sample handling

NGS library prep stations

Prevent index hopping and cross-run contamination

Pipettors and racks

Surface-decontaminate single-channel and multichannel pipettes

Gel electrophoresis equipment

No residue left to interfere with subsequent gel staining

Biosafety cabinet interiors

Molecular-prep BSC decontamination between specimens

Centrifuge rotors & chambers

Post-spin cleanup before next molecular run

General lab benchtops

Routine molecular-area surface decontamination

How to Use

From the IFU. 5 steps, no special equipment.

  1. 1
Pre-clean. Ensure the surface is free of visible soil or debris. If necessary, clean the surface before application.
  2. 2
Apply. Dispense a sufficient volume of Pro-Wipe Molecular Solution to completely wet the target surface. Guideline: 100 µL per 5 cm × 5 cm provides adequate coverage.
  3. 3
Distribute. Spread the solution evenly using a clean wipe, or allow the liquid to uniformly cover the surface.
  4. 4
Wait. Allow the solution to remain on the surface for a minimum of 1 minute. For heavily contaminated surfaces, extend contact time to up to 5 minutes.
  5. 5
Rinse and dry. After the required contact time, rinse the surface with water and dry using a clean disposable towel.

How Pro-Wipe Compares

Other nucleic-acid decontamination reagents on the market. Pro-Wipe Molecular Solution handles both DNase and RNase contamination in a single product, at a smaller bottle format (125 mL) better suited to small-volume labs that don't need a 250 mL or 475 mL bottle going stale on the shelf.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Pro-Wipe Molecular Solution do?

It rapidly inactivates DNase and RNase contamination and removes general nucleic-acid carryover from non-porous laboratory surfaces — benches, equipment exteriors, pipettors, racks, gel boxes. Designed for molecular biology and genomics workflows where preventing nucleic-acid contamination is critical.

What's the regulatory status?

Pro-Wipe Molecular Solution is For Research Use Only (RUO). Not for diagnostic, therapeutic, or in vivo applications. It is a research reagent, not an EPA-registered antimicrobial pesticide.

What's the contact time?

Minimum 1 minute for routine decontamination. For heavily contaminated surfaces, extend contact time up to 5 minutes. After the required contact time, rinse the surface with water and dry with a clean disposable towel.

How does it compare to RNaseZap or RNase AWAY?

Pro-Wipe Molecular Solution handles both DNase and RNase contamination in one product, where RNaseZap and RNase AWAY are RNase-focused. Pro-Wipe ships in a 125 mL bottle (vs. 250 mL+ for most competitors), which is better suited to labs that prefer fresh inventory over a larger bottle going stale on the shelf. Pricing: Pro-Wipe $24.99 (125 mL) vs. RNaseZap ~$101.65 (250 mL) vs. RNase AWAY ~$84 (250 mL).

How does it compare to DNA AWAY?

DNA AWAY (Thermo, ~$25–30 for 250 mL) is positioned for DNA / DNase decontamination. Pro-Wipe Molecular Solution handles DNase, RNase, and nucleic-acid carryover in one product — broader scope. For labs that need both DNA and RNA workflow protection, Pro-Wipe replaces the need for two separate decontamination reagents.

What surfaces is it safe on?

Non-porous laboratory surfaces — benches, equipment exteriors, pipettors, racks, plasticware, glassware. The IFU notes the oxidizing-agent chemistry may bleach, corrode, or degrade certain metals, dyes, and polymers — test on an inconspicuous area before routine use on a new surface.

When are the pre-saturated wipes available?

The Pro-Wipe pre-saturated wipe format is in development. The Molecular Solution liquid (125 mL ready-to-use) is available now. Sign up for the wipe launch waitlist on this page to be notified when the wipes ship.

What's the storage and shelf life?

Store at room temperature (15–30 °C / 59–86 °F) in the original tightly closed container. Protect from direct sunlight and heat. Do not freeze. Expiration date is printed on the product label.

Can I get a free sample?

Sample bottles are available to qualifying molecular biology labs on request. Use the Volume Quote or Chat button to ask — we ship same-day to verified accounts.

Is there a GPO contract?

GPO contract submission is in progress for Vizient, Premier, and HealthTrust (Phase 2). Pro-Wipe is direct-purchase available today via Pro-Lab Direct at the published prices — P-card eligible at single-bottle, 6-pack, and auto-ship tiers.

Does it leave residue that interferes with downstream chemistry?

No — the 5-step protocol ends with a water rinse and dry. When applied per the IFU (apply → wait → rinse → dry), no residue remains to interfere with PCR, qPCR, NGS, gel electrophoresis, or downstream enzymatic reactions. Skipping the rinse step is the common mistake.
