The Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 Latex Kit employs a monoclonal antibody, specifically directed against surface antigens on Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1, eliminating cross reactions with other pneumophila and non pneumophila serogroups as well as other species of bacteria. Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 is the most common etiological agent of Legionnaires' disease and one of the most frequently identified legionella isolates in environmental samples.
